The first guide to Luxembourg’s restaurants, Explorator.lu was launched in 1996 and, over the years, has become a true reference point for many internet surfers.
As Explorator.lu is first and foremost a practical tool for those who want to choose a restaurant and book their table, the number of hits peaks between 11 a.m. and midday.
To meet site visitors’ requirements more fully in gaining information about restaurants in Luxembourg, Explorator.lu is going to be restructured and simplified in autumn 2009.
Similarly, a series of partnerships with, notably, RTL.lu, Hotcity.lu and Sodexo, will enable Explorator.lu to reinforce its position even further as the leader in its market area.
An iPhone application completes the package and guides surfers to the restaurants of their choice by GPS.
Explorator.lu’s success is based on both the omnipresence and the professionalism of an editorial team led by the gastronomy critic Jacques Demarque, and a multi-criteria database of 1,100 establishments.
A large promotional campaign (internet, printed press, mailing, e-mailing, Facebook… and 5,000,000 Sodexo Lunch Passes) as well as integration of the site contents into successful internet portals (among them: rtl.lu) will strengthen the position of Explorator.lu in the 2009/2010 season.
